October 4, 2005 Program

The major focus of today's program was to pass the torch from Ray A. Nixon, Jr.'s administration to the 2005-2006 administration of Alexander P. "Sandy" Hoke. As a part of his farewell remarks, President Ray expressed thanks to the Club for the wonderful cooperation given to helping his administration accomplish many things such as organizing the Circle K Club at Morehouse College, adopting the MY HOUSE project, and recruiting several new members. Several members were given special recognition which included the following:

  1. The President's Cup trophy was awarded to Angela "Angie" Levin.
  2. Ronnie French, Sherry Neal, and George Scheer received the Distinguished Service Award.
  3. President Ray recognized Ronni French, 2005-2006 Lt. Governor of Division 1, to bring greetings and install the 2005-2006 officers and board members of the Kiwanis Club of Peachtree Atlanta. Lt. She requested our cooperation so that this second term of Division 1 leadership will be successful. Lt. Gov. French congratulated the new officers and board members and charged them to give the very best in executing the responsibilities of their respective offices. The officers included the following: President Hoke, President-Elect Rabel, Secretary Neal, and Treasurer Kercheval.
  4. For a job well done, Ray was awarded the Past President Pin.
