And how would you like to own a piece of Hans Godo Frabel “sculptural torch work’?  Queen Elizabeth does!  Elton John does!  Ronald Reagan did!

His glass art is exquisite.  He has the ‘artistic gift’ to turn hot boron glass, from the Czech  Republic, into one of a kind works of glass art ranging in price from $60 tear drop vases to $10,000 signed, clown sculptures.

Today’s speaker was Mr. Kevin Oonk, President of the Hans Godo Frabel Glass Art Studio, located here in Atlanta.  He presented the glass art work of Mr. Frabel in a slide presentation and showed the Club the ‘ins and outs’ and the history of glass blowing.

Visitors to Mr. Frabel’s studio can see nine skilled artisans design from molten glass heated to 4,000 degrees, magnificent glass art sculptures of many colors, collectors around the world pay very handsomely to own.

In 1968, Mr. Frabel was employed by Georgia Tech, to make laboratory glassware, such as test tubes and beakers and other laboratory glass equipment.  But a friend of his at the university, a professor, asked him if he would consider making a piece of glass sculpture for the professor’s wife’s birthday. And there you have it… The Frabel glass Studio was born.  “Sculptural torch work” of a master glassblower engrained with the discipline and skill of a ‘scientific glassblower’ merged into the ‘imagination and spontaneity’ of the creative mind of an artist.

The Frabel Glass Art Studio is located at 689-695 Antone Street NW, Atlanta, Georgia. 30318
