The name "Kiwanis" stems from an Indian phrase which, loosely translated, means "to express oneself."
Through Kiwanis membership, people can give of themselves, their experience, knowledge, time and love - to those who need them most. Kiwanians work for a way of life in which they believe. They can form friendships on a first-name basis with fellow citizens they otherwise might never have met.
Kiwanis performs service beyond the capability of the individual; assistance to the aging, the needy, and to youth; improvement of communities; encouragement of international understanding.
